Carol Jantsch Master Class and Recital

Carol Jantsch, principal tuba of the Philadelphia Orchestra, is giving a Master Class and Recital at the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL. The Master Class will be held at 3PM on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in Smith Memorial Hall, 805 S. Matthews, Urbana, IL. Custom Music Co. from Detroit, MI will display instruments immediately following the master class in Smith Music Building. The Recital will be at 3PM on Sunday, October 25, 2009 in the Foellinger Auditorium of the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana, IL. The program will include PDQ Bach “Dutch Suite”, Armand Russell “Suite Concertante”, Camille Saint-Saens “Cello Concerto No. 1”, John Stevens “Suite for Two” and Stevens “The Liberation of Sisyphus”. Carol will be assisted by members of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony ant the UI Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble. The events are part of women in American Music Month and organized by the Sousa Archives Center for American Music at the University of Illinois.
