lol I'm a senior in high school. I once planned on being a marine but made other plans. My brother was a marine.

Just by looking at the sheer size of that tuba, I would think that it must be incredible at playing marches and anything that requires Ooompahs!
Also, it must be awesome at playing J.S. Bach pipe organ music. You know the parts where we play the pipe organ pedal line.

I do wonder how easy it is to climb in the higher register? Do you have problems hitting let's say the 4th line, in the staff, F or above?

I have no problem hitting it, although it takes some lipping to get it in tune. Honestly the scale is great on it. I can climb up to the C above the staff ok with it and the low register is amazing. Even the notes with the 'involved' valve combinations (low Eb, D below fundamental) come out nice and clear. Great for playing the low notes on the staff (especially when accompanied by a good bass tuba on top) and yes. Great for playing Toccata in D minor.

Sorry, i can only take the money. I'm in need of a college car right now.yes it is a BBb. And, I'm not sure about conversion. Its very big. Plus, it would be a shame to cut up such a good horn.

I cannot believe this horn is still for sale.

Me also - it looks in good condition and at a reasonable price (would cost a LOT more in the UK).

I used to think these old Conn's just lumbering beasts, but having tried a couple earlier this year, am VERY impressed. Incredible sound which will put a real solid foundation on a band, while those short action valves seem far better than the pistons fitted on modern 6/4 tubas. By better, I mean more comfortably spaced, faster with the short action and seem to be more reliable.

the horn is back for sale. And to let anyone interested know, It will be with me at the northwest Arkansas tuba christmas tommorow if anyone wants to play test it. I will be wearing a letterman with the name "ROTRAMEL" on the back and alot of patches. If anyone wants to set up a time before hand, PM me and let me know.
