The photo doesn’t look like that. And if the legs were flat on the floor, the stand would get unstable when the hinges wear.

I do own this stand... and no, the legs do not lie on the floor. I think you will be more pleased with the conductor's stand:

Head is more stable and the stand is more adjustable.
