Hello!
I am a college student and I recently heard "Church Windows" by Respighi and I instantly fell in love with the tuba excerpt in the second movement. I have looked online, checked all my resources available to me at school and just can't find it. Anyone happen to know where I might be able to find it?
Thanks!

Re: Church Windows
Get the score from your college library, copy the tuba part by hand. You'll have the part tomorrow and you can pay yourself with the beverage of your choice!
I know guys who have tons of parts they hand copies before Kalmus, Cherry Classics, et al, started selling parts.

Re: Church Windows
While the advice given by other responders is spot-on, I seem to recall Church Windows being a fairly difficult score to locate because very few libraries actually have it in their collections. If you are a college student, use the WorldCat catalog to locate a copy of it and then make use of your school's interlibrary loan program to obtain it.

Thanks Tigertuba!!
And yeah, I've checked OhioLink which is a resource where I can get stuff from probably 30 colleges in Ohio, and none of them have it. It's such a great piece and I just don't get why no one has it!

To piggyback on what others have said:
The piece is rental only through Boosey (in the U.S.) and through Ricordi Music in other parts of the world. This is why college libraries don't have it. It is not even available for purchase at any price.
Yes, I know you just want a part, but others might (???) care about this part...
While I have not rented this particular work for my orchestra to perform, Boosey rentals are expensive and it would not surprise me at all if this was a $1,000 rental for a weekend of performances. Boosey will absolutely NOT sell you individual parts, trust me...don't even bother asking. Luck's Music (the "go-to" source for single parts) and Kalmus (similar) don't deal with the piece at all and will refer you back to Boosey.
However, you can BUY a study score through any of the major sheet music retailers for around $25 and copy the part out yourself. It is your only option short of obtaining a photocopy from someone else that has performed it.

Re: Church Windows
The Cincinnati/Lopez-Cobos recording of that is definitely "Desert Island" material! Another piece by Respighi you might really dig is the "Belkis, Regina di Saba" ballet suite. Find the Philharmonia/Simon recording and crank it up! Especially the 2nd and 4th movements...The suite is only about 20 or so minutes out of a 90 minute ballet. Unfortunately, no one has recorded the entire ballet. I need a shower after listening to the suite alone, I can only imagine how the complete ballet would be.
