In a phone conversation with Harvey yesterday, I mentioned that Peter Hirsbrunner had passed away. He had already heard the news. Then, Harvey proceeded to tell me a story about when Peter Hirsbrunner was staying at the Tubaranch several years ago as Harvey's guest. Apparently one night, Harvey was awakened by a phone call from a neighbor who said that the Phillips' cows were loose and that they were in the nieghbor's yard. Harvey proceeded to get dressed to go and round up the cows to get them back to Tubaranch when he accidentally awakened Peter. Peter wanted to know what was going on being that he was getting dressed in the middle of the night. Harvey told him about the cows that wandered off into a neighbor's yard. Peter told him, "Wait, I"ll get dressed. We do this almost every night in Switzerland."

I wish I had the $$ and the luck to find one of his more singular instruments for personal use, as I love compensating tubas: a 3-valve double-decker rotor compensating BBb tuba.
