Me, the Besson 983 and a Blokepiece #2 this past Veterans Day playing the Beer Barrel as an encore; not my idea of a closer.

bigbob, you have mentioned not remembering BBb fingerings for your King sousaphone. I think I know why.

Image

If you use your Wenger chair as it is shown on the photo, you cut off the circulation in your right leg, which will slow the oxygen supply for your brain. The two forks should be swapped, and the offset fork should sit on the right outside of the back post.

With all due respect none of us two are the youngest. Within the next two decades you will come to like your little CC very much. If you have a young wife and if you put wheels on the Wenger chair, you also will be ready for parading the King for many years to come.

After 45 years on the sidelines: a new (to me) tuba and many hours of practice. Recently joined a community band, too; it's terrific to make music with others again. Joy! Image

Helen, did you bring the tuba for your honeymoon, or was the honeymoon with the tuba?

Me and my sweet little pre-1915 King Eb. I love my Giant Eb, but this horn is just so easy to play and has an awesome low Eb-A even with the very small mouthpiece I use on it!

I'm surprised to see a high school with Cerveny tubas. Is your band director a tuba player by any chance?

No way would my old HS band director trust us with rotary valved tubas...we had too many "wannabe mechanics" that loved taking things apart.
