I almost didn't put this up because I wondered about the comments it might elicit. Then I thought, "What better reason to post it?" What was I thinking?

I'd think a subcontrabass would be more like this...

Some years ago, I attended a master class given by MUCM Roger Behrend (principal euph with US Navy Band, Washington, DC). He asked the class, "What color and texture do you picture when trying to make your best sound?" Someone in the class suggested they thought of a juicy double cheese burger (all of a sudden I felt the need to empty my horn.)

Roger's answer was 'burgundy velvet'. I thought that was very appropriate.

Here's the result of my tone on good days. I like playing in the twilight.

Wasn't it Stockhausen who once told the CSO Brass (Jake, Bud et Coy) to play a darker shade of purple (or something like that)?

AAH HA....I'm onto you.

1. You were once late to a gig so adopted a bunny suit to help you get places on time.

2. The White Fluff is the air filter on the intake to,

3. The battery powered aerophore which helps you get a BIG sound.

Did I win the prize for guessing the mystery outfit - or was that on a helpacon?
