No, my band director plays Trumpet, but he is just REALLY awesome! We have three Cerveneys and two 4-valve Yamahas.

All I know about our sousas is that one is a Conn and the others are Kings. They're pretty old, for a public high school anyways. I would guess about 20 years - 30 years old. They are literally falling apart. Two of the sousaphones have a broken brace on the part where the bell connects, and one of those two tubas has numerous broken braces around the valve block and is held together by zip ties. These sousaphones are on their lest legs. We desperately need new ones, but we still blow the heck out of em.

I'm the blonde one using the golden neck.

For concert season I use a Musica. None of our tubas are very nice. It isn't our band directors fault though, just public funding. Apparently we receive no money from the school. Lucky for us our director is a tuba player, so he tries to help out the tubas whenever he can, but we're pretty much left to fix and deal with whatever problems we can.

I must admit, I cheated. The 7-string isn't mine. But I do play 6-string bass, an Ibanez SR506. Amazing deal for $630. Full equalizer on it!
The 7-string is over $1200 new...check it out.

Thought I'd post a pic at last. Here's me with my 1940 Martin BBb, complete with a Lee Stofer/Kanstul repro bell.
