Perhaps an issue with permissions on cookies? Cookies are a common place where Internet apps store info on your computer.

Same thing has been happening to me on my laptop. It used to go directly to the new post but now, as Schlep has observed, it takes me to the top of the thread. I have changed nothing on my 'puter.

If IE8 is causing the problem, you can always run in in compatibility mode. Click the button that looks like a broken window to the right of the address bar (where you enter web addresses.) IE8 is much more secure than IE7, I do recommend it.

That's like saying hanging is better than the electric chair! Using any version of IE is like painting a bullseye on your forehead (and don't get me started on Outlook!).IE8 is much more secure than IE7, I do recommend it.
Firefox is a far superior browser on many levels, especially considering the many plugins available for it. Google also has a new browser that is getting good reviews, although I haven't used it.
My day job is as an IT Manager, and this is the same advice I give our corporate users, many of whom are computer-semi-literate.
