Any Experiance with the PT-606p??

Post by ZachDomrese »

I am very proud to say that I have just ordered a new PT-606p from Custom Music :D and I was wondering what anyone's opinion is on these horns. I would be interested in your opinions on PT CC tubas in general and also the opinion of anyone who has had a chance to play one of these horns.
Thanks!

Excuse me for asking, but you bought a horn before playing and now you are asking the TNFJ for their opinion..?

I'm sorry I should clarify I have played this horn before, but only once, and I was just curious about other players long term experience with Perantucci tubas.

Oh.

Well in that case, I have found the PT606p to be a good, solid horn (certainly above average); with a great 'American' sound. Response, intonation, flexibility, etc; were fine, but the kind of sound it produced did not match the sound I had in my head a that particular time. The 'tuba sound in my head' has changed slightly since I started college, and I do have my personal preferences, but the PT606p a great 4/4 CC, no doubt about it.

Congrats on getting a great horn. Now, get thee to a practice room! :tuba:
