*ahem*...8th...*ahem*
Nice game to watch. I thought Texas had a chance down three with the ball and 3 minutes to go. Great entertainment.
Congrats to the Tide...too bad Boise doesn't get a shot at you, though...that really stains an otherwise great year of college football.
BTW...my favorite Alabama "claimed" national championship...has to be 1941. 9-2 with shutout losses to Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. 3rd in the SEC, but "National Champions." Sure.

I don't know squat about football but 'Roll Tide' is one of my favorite concert band pieces. It's from the movie 'Crimson Tide'. Does anyone know the origin of the piece? You can hear it here:

Re: ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!
Colt McCoy's shoulder injury in Texas' first offensive series took some of the glory out of 'Bama's victory.
Texas then tried to run an ultra simple offense and Bama tried to pound the rock and avoid passing to prevent turnovers.
I would have prefered seeing Alabama win with Texas' offense at their very best. But - hey, it's a win and we'll take it and be thankful.

Re: ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!
Injuries are part of the game. I wonder how Oklahoma would have done against Texas if Sam Bradford didn't get injured. Same difference. The fact is that it was a clean, run-of-the-mill tackle that you see every week. I'm with you. I would have rather we played against Colt McCoy so that I don't have to hear the sportscasters doubting the validity of the game. If McElroy got knocked out of the game, it would be Alabama's responsibility to fill the void. In fact McElroy was playing with 2 cracked ribs. I hope that McCoy gets better....so that Mount Cody can sack his a$$ in the NFL.tubatooter1940 wrote:Colt McCoy's shoulder injury in Texas' first offensive series took some of the glory out of 'Bama's victory.
