I don't see that on the item description, Joe.

Here's what it says under the return policy link:

7 days after the buyer receives it

Merchandise Credit

Returns are not accepted from international buyers. All returns must be received in original packaging. Any returns not arriving in original packaging will be refused. Returns will be given as merchandise credit. There will be a 10% re-stocking fee. Shipping charges will not be refunded to merchandise credit.

The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Which is, I suspect, precisely why Joe decided to point it out. Most wouldn't see it.

In my day, we called actions like this one of Joe's "neighborly."

There's something funny about eBay, though... Even if you set a "return policy" clearly in your listings, it's not likely to stick if someone wants to send an item back. A buyer can whine to eBay and paypal and almost always get what they want, and still leave negative feedback. My wife and I own an internet retail business, and we do quite a bit of business on eBay. It is set up to protect the buyer very well and leaves a seller little recourse if things go sour.

So, the return policy, though stated very clearly in the listing is not likely to hold any water if a buyer decides to open a case with paypal or eBay.

Got a link to the auction? Or did it already get pulled?

Huh? I hope not...I was just about to leave some well-deserved negative feedback with a very lazy seller. I haven't done it yet, but I just checked and the option is there for when I'm ready to "pull the trigger."

Buyers can, sellers can't.

Gotcha. This, however, makes sense to me.

Once the item is bought and paid for, what reason is there not to leave positive feedback?

If there is a problem receiving payment, the sale is generally canceled and re-listed. Again, no need for any feedback.

When I buy something on eBay, I always pay immediately via PayPal. I find it very interesting that around 90% of the time the seller doesn't immediately leave me positive feedback (as I do with my buyers). They generally wait until I leave them feedback as the buyer to give me some (if they bother at all).
