Old pictures
I decided to share some old pictures. While I'll still have to convert some to digital format I'll start with this one. My dad is the youngest person on the picture, my grandpa is on the top right and his 2 cousins on the top left. This picture was taken in Ukraine in 1950's.

Re: Old pictures
There is a huge collection of old brass bands (civilian and military) from all over the world at http://www.ibew.org.uk/vbbp-uk.htm
You should send them files your pictures, but they sometimes seem to be overwhelmed with submissions - don't send huge files.

Re: Old pictures
I just edited as to where and when picture was taken. Also, thank you for that website with old pictures. Once I'm organized I'll send them an email.

Re: Old pictures
The Helicon on the left (back row, stage right) is interesting - the bell looks like a "Pea Shooter" (unless it is just a trick of the reflections of light on the bell) but the main curved pipe is quite large - even near the valve cluster it looks about as large as the full bell horn next to it. It looks too large to be a baritone range horn, so I am stumped!
Klaus?

Re: Old pictures
Here is a bit of history. Soviet army freed western Ukraine from Germans and this band from village Pozharki was called for military service. The interesting fact is that all 20 members returned alive after the war. Picture was taken just before they left to war in 1944. My grandpa's cousin is on the left (stage right) with the Helicon.
