This question is about playing music in music chat rooms. My old operating system ( Windows XP ) allowed me to play music in the chat rooms by giving me the options of using Line in,Stereo mix etc. The options were accessed from the speaker icon in t lower left of the desktop. I could play the music from YouTube,my cd player, USB record player or hook up any MP3 type player to a USB port.
Windows 7 doesn't have these options available and I am at a loss as to how to fix it. A massive Google and Bing search only reveild that no one seems to know how to fix it. Not even the Windows exeperts on the Windows Help forums.
Does anyone here have and idea as to how to fix this ?
Other than this one issue I really like the new Windows.

Re: Windows 7 help needed - concerning sounds configuration
Here's how I got mine to work :
1.) Right click on the speaker icon in the lower left of uour desk top
2.) You will see a list of choices : Opem Mixer, Playback Devices, Recording Devices,Sounds,Volume Control Devices. Click on Recording Devices .
3.) A small window will open with a box in the middle. When I opened mine there was nothing in the box. I right clicked in the middle of the box .
4.) When I right clicked I got a smaller box with 2 options in it that said "Show Disabaled Devices" and " Show disconnected devices" . My " Show Dusabled Devices" was not "x" ed . I had to put a x in the small box besides it .
5.) Once you x that box you should see a option that says "Stereo Mix" you have to enable it and make it the default device. It is very important that you make it the default device or it will nor work in a chat room.
6.) That should be all you need to do . PM me with any questions .
