My country has two anthems, one for the country and one for the royal house. Politics aside the one for the country is very problematic to sing, because its Romanticim chromatic harmonic developments are not in the inner parts but in the tune. The royal anthem has a way better melody, but it has been pushed back from public usage.
Actually the country anthem was taken out of school curriculums because it was so har to sing. I has however been reintroduced by demand of a somewhat unlikely population segment: boys between eight and eleven. They didn’t ask for any sort of anthem. Their demand was for The Soccer Song. Because the anthem is sung before every international soccer game transmitted on TV. The public singing is at the level of Joanne Barr undoing the US anthem.
Sousa marches used to be popular here also, but not so much Stars and Stripes. Probably because it hard to play well for the Eb soprano in brass only bands.
Hover the trio melody suddenly appeared in a Danish radio show 30+ years ago. I was most surprised by the context, which actually was meant to surprise.
Translated the text sad something to this effect: You think the song has come to and end, and it has! Sudden curt 4 notes into the second phrase.
This subforum is a bit more liberal, so I will dare a translation of the end song of a high school vaudeville made by a later fellow university student of mine. The tune is the theme from Radetzky March or New Year’s Viennese fame. The terrible pun almost survives the translation:
Go now rea-
Go now rea-
Go now really home!
