MTNA is a big one. However, it's notoriously difficult to compete with sax quartets in the same division.

I assume you are talking Saxophones and not Sax Horns or Sax Butts. Why do they allow the Saxophones to compete in a Brass competition?

We were talking about chamber competitions. In the MTNA system, brass groups compete against woodwinds groups (mostly sax quartets) and string groups (mostly string quartets). It's ridiculous and you rarely see even the most talented brass groups advance to the national finals. I'm not sure the Canadian Brass could advance in some regions.

MTNA soloist competitions are split into brass, woodwind, string, and piano.
