Alex F tuba owners - Help needed ASAP

Post by Jonathan Fowler »

My Alex 155 was damaged during my travels last weekend and I'm in the process of making a claim for the repair costs. If any of you 155 owners in tubaland would be so kind as to take some pictures of your horns in an undamaged condition so I may use them in comparison with mine I would be very grateful.

Here's what happened:

Too much weight was put on the side of the case (it was laying down - valves up) the pressure bent the bar that supports the paddles out of alignment on both sides. The mechanism for the 4th valve pushed itself into the tubing of the 4th valve.

I'm taking pictures of the damage myself, but for insurance reasons, could REALLY use your help on this one so the company knows that the horn is damaged.

Here's what you could do to help:

If you could show the right angles of the braces that are attached to the valve tubing from a few angles, as well as show how the 4th valve linkage should not be compressed into the 4th valve tubing, that may have the best chance for a successful claim.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help me out,
