A few members will know what this is about. - most will not as it is Australias day of rememberance of those who served in time of war Aandis not the same as some others.
Aussies and Yanks, (and Poms) and many others have borne arms for the sake of keeping the world "free".
Today I have had my own personal day of rememberance for my brothers who served, my school mates who died or suffered from Vietnam and many other brothers in arms and a very special friend from WWII - Weary Dunlop.
We do things a bit different here in Oz. I cant march anymore or even stand for a dawn service. Most don't even believe I spent six years in uniform - so what. I went to the local pub, had a couple then decided to have a rum. There was only one other vet there. We had our rum and a couple toasts, including a loyal toast.
LEST WE FORGET

Re: ANZAC DAY
The Houston Brass Band provided music for the ANZAC day ceremony here in Houston. In addition to the Aussie and NZ consuls general, the consul general from Turkey participated (for the first time). Very nice ceremony.

Re: ANZAC DAY
Did the Melbourne march twice this year (not enough bands). My grandfather was decorated twice in WW1.
