I was never really interested in FB but when I moved from Colorado to North Dakota some of my family encouraged me to set up a Myspace so I did (don't use it anymore). The students in the marching band and some of the other classes I was TAing for often used FB for communicating sectional information, music changes, and just general use so I set that up. I don't play any of the games, occasionally take some of the quizzes just for grins and giggles, but primarily use it to catch up/keep up with friends many miles away.

That's what I use it for--I've been to six high schools and lived in eighteen states, so it's difficult to keep in touch. Facebook makes it much less difficult.

When I first got my Facebook account, I spent too much time on it. I've migrated to about five minutes a day. I like the photo sharing best - avoids filling up email inboxes, and "friends" can choose whether they give a sh!# enough to look at my photos .

I enjoy some of the casual banter, but get tired of the facebook political debates pretty fast.

Having said that, I also wrote a new policy at work a few weeks ago limiting employee use at/about work.

i'm pretty meh, on the games and other silliness.

No interest in FB at all... for now. I subscribe to the concept of friends and acquaintances, I have many acquaintances, few friends, no "friends" who have time to look me up on the internet but not call/email(?)...

Toddster, still off the vile weed?

By the way, FaceBook, as much as I can understand it, seems to be a way of pretending to be in touch with people without the bothersome aspects of contacting them on a regular basis...

Yep...still stink free.

As to Facebook...yeah, those letters and phone calls are pretty much obsolete, n'est-ce pas?

I like FB for the photo share, and have done some catching up with old school buds. The only FB "game" I play is Hold 'em poker, but I have been surprised at the intensity with which my policeman colleagues play "Mafia Wars."

I only spend maybe five minutes a day on Face Book. I suppose it has it's merits. I would not have known about the Outer Banks Tuba Retreat had it not been for a message I received through FB.

I used to make use of Face Book a lot. I have cut back and now spend more time on TubeNet!

I was talked into getting a Facebook page by someone I went to college with and I'm glad I did. It's good for finding long lost friends and reconnecting. That being said, I have a personal goal of never allowing my friends list to get bigger than 100. Once it gets there, I will start to eliminate friends that I got at the beginning that were really just friends of the friends that I know. People that I online game with will be in the next cut.

I wonder what Betty White would think of TubeNet? Something similar, I would imagine.

Update. I deleted my FB account.

they are simply trying to monetize people's timewasting, and I don't need to facilitate that.
