Hetman 9

Post by bisontuba »

HI-
On one of my horns, I had a loose tuning slide--so I used some lanolin from the drugstore (of course, a repairman could ever so slightly 'expand' the tubing too)--still at times it would move--so a trumpet player friend of mine told me about Hetman 9 slide grease--more like a paste. Hard to find, but finally acquired it and put it on the slide. Amazing--for loose slides, use Hetman 9 and you will not have to worry anymore. Better than lanolin- Great stuff!
Regards-

I understand it is no longer made. They're making a 7 plus which is similar but not quite as thick.

Are you sure? I was reading on another forum where they recommended Hetman 9 slide grease. According to their website, it's still being made.

Not sure, but I've heard it from one retailer and another one has it on their web site:

Yamaha’s slide grease is a fairly thick petrol gel, much thicker than Vaseline.

I bought some Hetman 9 back in October from an online store. Super thick. My vertical main tuning kept working it's way out. Took care of it.
