Nice....

Little Johnny was a chemist
Little Johnny is no more
For what he thought was H2O
Was really H2SO4...
I always knew it as "Little Johnny took a drink, of which he'll take no more..."

Still, I clearly remember this from 7th grade science class. :)

The imbibing I was talking about was your reference to your DHMO consumption. I thought you might have swallowed some on your fishing expedition. I was also expecting some reference to Sturgeon roe as a response to the taste question. I had no idea you actually ate the meat! You take me far too seriously. BTW, you might like to know that a favorite ex-submariner of ours played a very nice trumpet solo on the Navy Hymn in church the other day.

Once was a chemist named Willy Weeks.
He's not with us anymore.
For what he thought was H2O was H2SO4.
We pronounce it Guf Coast

Speaking of toxic substances, how's your H2O holding up. I am so afraid of what could happen down your way. Everything ok so far?

Wife offered me wine, but I will settle for tea instead - Earl Gray, to be exact.

Well then Bort, you better come out to Montana - getting Fat Tire is not a problem.

A couple of Grain Belt "Nordeast", best described as a Classic amber, I'm using them to chase a fine Maduro wrapped Rocky Patel cigar. :D

I've been to their brewery twice, almost enough to make me move to Colorado (yeah, except for that whole "job" thing... :))

Coffee. I SHOULD be having a beer on my patio watching baseball, but the weather Gods have somehow forgotten that Las Vegas IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A FRICKIN' DESERT AND IT'S 52 DEGREES OUTSIDE.

OK, I am not going to pretend that I'm drinking one as I type this, but the neighbors dropped by this evening with the ingredients and made "Sazeracs" for us, with 100 proof Rittenhouse straight rye whiskey. What fine people!

Had my first shot of Everclear tonight... I don't get the hype. I'll stick to my scotch and craft beers, thank you.

the elephant wrote:I had friends over for steaks and wine the other night. We uncorked a few bottles of a very fine Bordeaux that I had been saving and had a wonderful time. We smoked some Havanas that one of my friends smuggled into the US last month. Great wine. Great smokes. Great food. High-style living is what we love.

However, one of my friends brought a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 and a box of Swisher Sweets. So we all had our first glass of the MD 20/20 while puffing on the "pimp sticks"... I don't get the hype. I'll stick to my Bordeaux and Havanas, thank you.
in my opinion, MD 20/20, night train, everclear, pbr, swishers, chain fast food, etc. all has it's place in the diet of a well rounded person, imo. Not for everyday, just like the high end wines, aged scotch/whiskeys, and smuggled cubans arn't for everyday.

that said, when you apply the right vice to the right situation, it hits the spot like nothing else.

Hype? Haha, what was the hype you heard? Free ambulance ride to get your stomach pumped?

If I remember correctly, 1 shot of Everclear is about the same alcohol as 3.5 shots of rum. That's just dangerous.

I'll stick with tea and coffee, I'm getting too old for such wild and crazy things as drinking Everclear. I'll save it for cleaning my valves.
