No one started a thread for any of the times I've been published...

Welcome to the catty world of professional writing, James.

To Whom It May Concern,

It seems to me this is none of concern for the parties speaking of this.

Tubashaman is my grad student, and I did appreciate the PRIVATE email that I received regarding this. As you know, I did not answer your email. I did, however, contact Mr. Doughty. For the record, things are proceeding as they were discussed.

The reason I did not respond is that I felt that you were not just pointing out a possible problem, but rather dogging him. If you were just pointing out his post, you would not have needed to call Mr. Doughty. In fact, I find it more than a little professionally offensive that you would call him before contacting me.

As you may have noticed, Tubashaman has a much diminished presence on the internet (Tubenet, Facebook, etc.). He and I have been working on his professional persona, and part of that is his internet persona. From that perspective, I invite anyone to contact me regarding him and his actions, and in fact I would prefer being the first stop for any issues.

There is a reason that I (and many other professionals) only post on a limited basis. I realize that this posting will not end the thread, and that I will most assuredly be "flamed" regarding this. I would like to challenge those who feel the need to chase after others to take a look at themselves before they post. How would you feel if someone were pursuing you in this fashion?

I have said my peace... Feel free to attack as desired...

Todd, with respect, I don't see Tubenet as the place to post information about other tuba players for the purpose of laughing at them.

You can say that's not what you were doing, but you might as well save your breath. I won't be buying it.

Point obviously not made or heard. Subject line/main post revised. Apologies to Tim Olt and James.
