Just got my property tax statement for 2010. My appraised value has gone down 13% since last year and is now $14,000 less than the appraisal 5 years ago when I bought it and less than a thousand dollars more than I paid. My taxes however have gone up 12%. Go figure!
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Three of us from work just went out and had real pizza at Joey's House of Pizza. We left wearing white shirts, and came back with our shirts unscathed!

Let's see. Taxes went up? This is the United States of America and this is about taxes. Right? It costs a lot of money to pay for all the things we seem to believe we are entitled to.

Shovelnose number 1 was spawned today. She gave us ~17,000 eggs over four sessions. All eggs were mixed with adequate-motility milt and should hatch in 3 - 6 days. Water temperature is being held at 20.8 C and should guarantee 100% (complete) hatch by Tuesday, 1 June. Assuming 50% hatching success, this will ensure that the first experimental trial will have more than enough prelarvae.

Yes, bort, the inmates train dogs, for private owners and dogs from the pound they offer for sale. The only downside of getting a dog trained in a woman's prison, they don't like men. :(

I never knew that! Wife and I are (hopefully) getting a dog this weekend. I think we'll be going with a shelter though, and not one from Rikers... :)

Heading to the drive-in tonight to see a double feature of Iron Man 2 and Shrek 3. Beautiful weather tonight in Buffalo and the surrounding areas. It should be a great time.

Wow! I didn't think there were any drive-ins still around. My area [across the river from Philly] used to have more drive-ins [and diners] than just about anywhere else on Earth.Diners are still here, but not a single drive-in is still there. Sigh!

Got a dog today! A Jack Russell mix. And for a JR, it is completely CHILL and NOT a crazy maniac. Such a sweet little dog.

We'll see tomorrow how she responds to the tuba! :)
