Mirafone Quartets

Post by Tom Mason »

At one time, there was a publication of quartets from Mirafone, called aptly enough, the Mirafone Quartets. Its size and shape were done in the same general format as the TubaChristmas quartets.

Does anyone have there, or does Mirafone still publish these? I have not been able to find these, and would love to buy a copy if possible.

I bought a set a couple of years ago. I would imagine the Miraphone books, arranged by Rodger Vaughan, are still in print. Contact The Tuba-Euphonium Press.

I recall reading that Rodger Vaughan did these (or at least some of the arrangements contained therein). I am also aware that some quartets of his were published by Cimarron Music -- perhaps you could find a contact info for Mr Vaughan through that source <bryan@cimarronmusic.com>. (Or maybe Bryan might chime in here directly.) This might provide a starting point to track down whether or not they are commercially available any longer.
