Looks like the artist is not so good at Photoshop!

I don't know. Got any pictures from the back? The lower valves look interesting.

This is the only pic I have. It was sent to me via email from a friend who thought I would know what it is as I play tuba..

My guess it that it is photoshopped too :P

Yeah.... by blowing it up, you can almost read the engraving on the bell. The valves on the side are skewed and they also have no circuits attached. I have to vote for a manipulated image.

Paging Dr. Young!

Looks just like my Couesnon C French tuba, but with two extra valves (4 in each hand as opposed to 3). I can't really see enough valve tubing to make this credible unless the extra two valves are half-step or whole step (the six valve version already has these though).

It's the Mahillion six-valve C tuba pictured below (picture taken from the Tuba Exchange site) with a valve added (read: Photoshopped) above and below the two on the side. Nice try, though!

Where did you get this image? It would be interesting to see who is taking pictures from Vince's site and playing around with them for some unknown reason.

It was emailed to me from a fellow musician (not a tubist). I think he saw it on facebook or some other unreliable source of misinformation. Idt tracking down the person who edited the photo would be possible for me at this point. Sorry.

No big deal. Just seems like an odd thing for someone to do.

EDIT: Oh, and BTW...Mahillion is Belgian. This is one of the Walter Sear "imports" that he sold from a Manhattan ballroom in the 1950s.
