... in the 1936 movie starring Gary Cooper "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town"? Filmed at Gem Studios in North Carolina.

Yeh... my wife and I watched it at a friend's house this evening. It's obvious that Mr. Cooper wasn't playing the horn but it piqued my curiousity! Heck... 1936! It's not likely any of the studio musicians at Gem in North Carolina from that era are even still alive! I am kinda hoping I'll find out that a NY Phil tubist of the day was the one who played.

"Mr. Deeds Goes to Town" was directed by Frank Capra and Howard Jackson is credited as the composer. Even if it was filmed in North Carolina the music was probably done in Hollywood.
