Me with my new Miraphone Firebird F Tuba. I played on this horn quite a bit at ITEC and I fell in love with it, so I decided to order one. (Thanks to my grandmother for buying it for me!) It's an amazing horn and I cannot wait to start performing with it!

It was HOT (96º at 6:30 PM) and I had to stand around holding that thing up for an hour while he took a boat load of shots. I do not care for this one, but I get to keep some for my personal use. This is the only place I can imagine ever using a photo of me, besides Facebook. I just posted it there a bit ago.

Wade,

While he's photshopping, he might take himself, and the light stand reflections out of your bell!

What a beautiful horn. I know you already love it as much as I love mine!! Why did they make you wait 6 months? Here is my 6 month old Willson 3100 FA-5 BBb and I absolutely LOVE it.

The 3100 RZ-4 is not a very common model, and it was not in stock + I wanted a silver plated one, which is probably not the usual finish on these horns.
I guess someone imported your horn into the States, and had it on stock when you bought yours. So the lead time was zero.

Nevertheless, I would have waited a year too if necessary...

Yeah come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen somebody playing a 3100 RZ-4 in person. I''ve just seen them on displays. And mine was a demo model in a store somewhere in the Northeast is what I was told. But I bought it through tuba exchange. But all the same, Congrats on your horn!

It was made by Mike (sorry, forgot your last name) who is a member of this board. The bell says Pearl River, so I call it a Pearl River Model 666

Beautiful. How's that pedal Bb?

Here is my Willson 3050 RZ-5 CC, 5th valve on the left. I took it out recently for Also Sprach Zarathrustra, where I needed to match the tympani. I think the tympani won.

With that axe, how could the timpani possibly have won?

You mean that earthquake note? :D :D
It just rolls out of it, no sign of 'breaking up'. Let's scare off some woodwinds on rehearsal friday night :tuba:

This horn is amazingly air-efficient for it's size, and very agile.
Every note can be played right where you want it, the response is right in your face.
The Rotax rotors are whispering-silent and lightning fast (well, faster than my fingers will move that is...)
The built quality is superb, ergonomics are perfect (I use the BBC tuba rest).
The intonation is near-to perfect, and every note can be 'bent' into place.

I'm a very happy and proud Willson tuba owner !

Here's a kinda goofy shot of me warming up. I'd have had better posture if I knew I was caught on film. :)
