I enjoyed this clip of the New York Philharmonic playing the North Korean national anthem. The low brass sounds great, particularly the tuba. Would that be Alan Baer?

Bloke, come on. Can't you just join in on a beautiful, international, butt kissing dog and pony show for once?As surely those in attendance were THE most influential North Koreans, I wonder which ones are in charge of nuking us this week?

Well, it would help if all others in attendence would have at least shown the common courtesy that we expect citizens of other countries to show us when our national anthem is played: stand there at attention and cut the crap until its over.

I was going to post a very famous video of Symphonie Fantastique... but alas, it has been removed.
Good thing, Matt Gray probably would have punched me for it.

A little off subject, but every year, I look forward to the CSO's opening week concert, where each night, the orchestra begins with The Star Spangled Banner, and it is very exciting to this former U.S. Army Field Band member.
And to get to hear Gene and Charlie laying it down....it is mighty powerful stuff!
