Buescher Tuba & Sousaphone Catalog

Post by Steve Marcus »

Buescher made saxophones for many years, but...

Does anyone have a catalog of Buescher tubas and sousaphones that could be scanned and posted?

Any print ads from magazines, etc.?

Thanks very much.

Buescher Raincatcher

Post by Dean E »

No catalogs, but this 3-valve Buescher raincatcher from about 1905 is in a small music museum at "The Henry Ford" Dearborn Village near Detroit, Michigan. I'm glad that I saw it there instead of screwed to the wall at a TGI Fridays.

I have a 1909 catalog/journal that is already scanned and posted at Horn-u-copia
1909 Buescher True-Tone

They also have 2 other Buescher catalogs
1939 Buescher Band and Orchestra Instruments
1954 Buescher Band and Orchestra Instruments

I only downloaded the 1909-stuff so far, but it is most interesting reading, which also reveals marketing hype not being a very recent invention. That period had some demands on abilities to play in multiple pitches, which see some interesting solutions in the cornets.

We are talking about a large file size for at least the 1909 publication, but the benefit is a reasonable resolution making text reading possible.

Thank you very much!
