Broken Case

Post by TubaCoopa »

Well, one of the wheels on the ol' tuba case finally gave out. The rubbery plastic "tire" part split down the middle, leaving the inner hard plastic "rim" behind. And while it still rolls, it doesn't seem like that hard plastic will last too long rolling on hard surfaces. I would try to replace it, but the axle is recessed inside the case, and I'm not sure it's even possible to get at it. For those who need to know, it's made by MTS Products; their "large frame tuba" model. I'm sure this has happened to some of you all before. Any suggestions on what to do?

You could start by contacting an MTS dealer.

If that doesn't work, contact MTS direct at http://www.mtsproducts.com/pgs/mhc.html

And... if those two ideas get you nowhere, you can just go to this website and find a wheel that will work http://www.ohiotravelbag.com/

They have two different levels of purchasing. An individual can make small purchases. Apparently they have a 'corporate' level, also.

I haven't bought anything from them for some time. Maybe they changed policy.

Here's another one that sells wheel-sets and other case hardware http://www.clipperproducts.com/

I had this exact problem with this exact case and was able to get it fixed at a luggage repair store for c.$30.
