Me & My Tuba, Add You & Yours

Here's my current (and hopefully permanent) stable:

:D

BTW, the serial # on the Martin is 15749, which dates it to about 1918!

The 186 didn't get into the family photo?

Looks like a cool old Eb! For Bob (where is he anyway?)... how are the false tones? :)

I figured I show an "unbroken" family. I'm finally getting interest on the 186 ( :D ).

Haha, to answer the last question, the false tones are great. I'm working on finding a fourth valve for it :)

This is me with Françios Thuillier, a well known jazz tubist who came for a visit. This is only 25% collection.

Good thing those horns aren't 'jumbos'!

See you at Pentwater on Thursday. The number on my web page is my cell number. Give me a shout when you get into town.

I am glad too they aren't jumbos. The 32 inch bell King sousa is in a very special place only reserved for the best.

I really wish I could go to this to jam with you guys.

Oops... my response was really intended for 'kiltituba'... who is also supposed to be in Pentwater on Thursday.

But... hey! You could make it, too! Let's see... Geneva to Detroit and then a 'puddle-jumper' to Grand Rapids... then, I'm sure either myself or 'mammoth2ba' could figure out a way to get you to Pentwater! Maybe even loan you a horn!

I played this in The Mad Hatter Band 1998-2004 but the intonation got to me in the end!

The Troiano Tuba Trio
Here's a picture of me and my sons before a Huntington Community Band concert this past July. left to right - Dan, Ithaca College graduate and starting a teaching career on LI in the Sachem School District; Chris, attending UNT as a freshman; and me. Chris played Napoli with the band while I conducted. Then, the 3 of us played Bugler's Holiday with the band. It was a lot of fun, especially playing with my own sons!

The player also is what we call (the equivalent of) raw, meaning tough. On a professional basis he enjoys his organs being nailed to the walls.
