Here is a new listing I just found on eBay. Starting bid is $5,950. Nice looking horn!

I was looking at that yesterday and being sorely tempted. But I just can't justify in my own mind the price of a professional tuba to play in community band and a quintet at church. But I did think about it for a while yesterday while looking at that horn!

"Good luck on the sale Dave?????" I'm not selling my Holton!! Like Chadtuba said in his post, this horn belongs to tundratubist. It is a good looking tuba at what I think is a very good price. Had I seen a good BBb Holton for sale this cheap 6 years ago I wouldn't have gone the route I went to get mine.

What???? It's only a thousand more than a new King 2341. A new BBb Alexander 163 is $13,000....

Tundra's name is Dave too, which means there are more than one of you out there somewhere  Wish I had the cash for this bad boy.

I don't think that eBay is the way to sell something like this, at least not if you want to get what it's worth. Most of the buyers on eBay are looking for a steal. Trying to find a buyer for something like this will usually take longer than the week or so that eBay allows regular auctions to run. It does provide a very wide audience for products, but that doesn't necessarily translate into getting what it's worth. I do think that this is definitely worth what's being asked, especially considering the rarity and what it would cost to buy just about any other similarly sized tuba. If I were in the market for a BAT this would definitely be high on the list.
