Are You Experienced? Part

Post by josh_kaprun »

I'm performing "Are You Experienced?" by David Lang with my university wind ensemble this semester, but we can't get the music in until 6 weeks before the concert. I haven't seen or heard the music, but, from what I've gathered, it's a rather challenging part that I would like to look at as soon as possible. If anyone has a copy of the solo part, please PM me.

Hey Josh,

Google "Jay Rozen" in NYC, or thereabouts, and see if he'll oblige you.

Drop me a line when you get a chance and let me know what you're up to.

Wow! I didn't know that Jimi Hendrix used "electric tuba" well enough the tuba! I'll have to go back and give that a listen! Regarding the use of violins, Hendrix must have heard The Elephant when they used four because one of his verses states...

Trumpets and violins I can hear in distance
I think they're calling our names
Maybe now you can't hear them, but you will
If you just take hold of my hand

The man was ahead of his time!
