I just ran across this. No date that I found.

The Ohio State University School of Music reported that several instruments were stolen over this past weekend. The reported value of these items is over 50,000.00 The items are:
York CC. tuba (brass)
Holton BBb. Tuba
Conn CC 54 tuba
4 tuba mouthpieces
Tuba gig bag
York Eb tuba
G+P F tuba
2 trumpets

Although not recent, the situation still is unresolved. These tubas were all owned by Jim Akins. I believe the school insurance has yet to compensate him making it difficult to "move on". The tubas were likely sold for scrap and now no longer recognizable as tubas. I can't imagine what it'd be like to have one horn stolen let alone all of them. Good luck Jim.
