Ostransky: Serenade and Scherzo

My student is endeavoring to play this piece for district contest in January. I explained to him that it’s an ambitious undertaking….so ambitious that his goal needs to be three hours a day practice, not three hours a week.

Do any of you fine folks know of a professional recording of this piece? I think a recording will help for young student to internalize what needs to be done. Duh?

I’ve searched Amazon.com and the daddy said he searched You Tube for it but could not find a recording. That may not have been a help anyway, obviously…depending on the submitter.

So, if there is no known recording, how about some of you hot shots help out a poor girl in Alabama. Record the piece, then place it on You Tuba…I mean You Tube.  Yea, I’m going to be plugging away at it myself, but he really needs to hear recordings of this piece from folks possessing music skills above my own.
