I totaly forgot you guys were doing that. Visions of ice are undoubtably preferrable to the reality. Unlike the bloke, I didn't even have to put my shoes on the get to the office today. Good luck with the Prokofiev. Wish I could hear it. What a fun part. Enjoy.

The only thing is that you bargained for that, living in the great north. Those guys living in the great south certainly didn't!God bless Algore! 8)

It will be quite impossible for me to keep listening to Al Gore. In order to do that, I would have to be listening to him now. I am not.

Several inches of show today... VERY cold temps... and ice tonight. Schools closed today and tomorrow. What a bunch of wimps!

Didn't stop band rehearsal tonight, though.

Update:

I have an audition next week for entry into a graduate instrumental conducting program to finish my Master's degree. I hope this is the positive turn I need right now because work just kinda sucks at the consolidated rural school lately

Sorry Doc. Somehow I got you and Rick confused in my mind. Rick, of the long driveway and mother of all snowblowers, probably does have to dig himself out today.

As someone who has lived and driven extensively in Arkansas, Texas, Massachusetts, and Utah, I don't think it has anything to do with whether the drivers are prepared or know how to drive in it.

With the kind of ice storms that happen in your neck of the woods, there simply is no way to prepare or learn how to drive in it. You just can't drive safely on a sheet of ice. You either stay home, or you take a risk.

I've driven in lots of snowy and icy conditions. I'm not bad at it. My work sometimes involves early morning meetings during heavy Utah winters when "Sorry I'm late, it was the snow" just doesn't cut it. But for those of you who've never experienced it, there is nothing like a southern "ice blanket" storm. When you have to drive in one of those, you're just taking a (sometimes necessary) risk.

3 days after the snow I finally decided to venture 4 miles to get my grandaughters and let my daughter go into the office for a few hours. Bad idea. The 4 lane major artery just ouside my subdivision was deserted which is unusual. A quarter of a mile later I found out from the nice policeman that it is closed on both ends. So I drove back home and here I sit. Good thing I don't have to go anywhere because I am trapped.

Congrats! I hope to be that way in another month or two, but just started the new exercise program this week. The diet side of it however is not going as well . . . yet. I will beat it though. I have to get healthy for my little girl.

Update:

Dumba**'s insurance company finally came through with approval to fix my wife's car and get us a rental car while it is in the shop. Some idiot drunk driver hit her car while parked overnight in front of our apartment at the beginning of December so it took a month to get this situation going towards a positive solution.

Still not sure I like the new Toyota Corollas, but I'm not paying for it so I've got no complaints about it.

I have been +/-5 pounds of my current weight for about the last 10 years, no matter how much I seem to eat, drink, exercise, not exercise. Even after getting married (and my wife is a GREAT cook!), still somewhere between 180 and 185. I consider myself lucky... works for me!

UPDATE:

The above pic from Hee Haw reminded me of how much fun it was to watch that show. It's been a very long time gone. The "scenery" was probably the best part.

Just trying to adapt to TubeNet material, now. Let's see: I'm a-blowin' and I'm a-goin'.........Maybe not!
