Hey guys and gals,
Looking at F tuba mouthpieces, and I've heard good things about the MF-4.
Looking for some feedback.
Thanks,

I like it. Not sure what it is specifically that I like about it, but I like it.

I just bought one of these a week ago and I love the way it feels and plays but my teacher and I have both noticed that its a very bright sound.

Re: Thoughts on the Mike Finn MF-4
I've had a Mike Finn MF-4 for about a year now, and it has a pretty shallow cup. The cup itself also feels very heavy, which gives it a nice weight to it. For me, it brightens my sound a little bit and doesn't overdo it.

Hi-
Not to change the topic, but if you are going to this week's Army Tuba Conference, make sure to try out the Mike Finn 'H' mouthpiece--a wonderful 'clone' of an original Conn 'H' Helleberg mouthpiece.

I use a MF-4 with a Besson 981 and it is my go-to mouthpiece - it really digs in while adding an edge to the traditional Besson sound.

I wonder if this could be the perfect mouthpiece for a Yamaha YBB-641.

Not usually one to post in threads like this, but I've recently received some very kind words from Neal Corwell who agreed to let me share them here.

Well, you've done it again...There's just something about your mouthpiece design that blows everything else out of the water. I thought it was my imagination, but when my wife listened to me playing four different mouthpieces, know nothing about any of them, she said your MF4H was head and shoulders above the rest. And I have to agree. A clearer more centered sound, a richer sound, and a consistent tone quality from the extreme high range down to the low range... Please send anyone, tuba or euphonium, to me if they aren't sure about buying one of your mouthpieces. They're great!
