Mike Roylance now on iTunes!

Post by KevinBock »

Mr. Roylance has just released 2 solo tracks on iTunes with pianist Jieun Kim. You can hear him playing the premiere of Robert W. Smith's Teutonic Tales for tuba and piano. On the recording, there are also three Piazzolla Tangos, both were done in Boston's own Symphony Hall. These are only available online at the moment while an entire CD is being put together, think of them as sneak previews. He sounds fantastic and Robert W. Smith's new piece will certainly be entering the solo repertoire for any ambitious tubist looking for a recital piece or solo with band. Enjoy!

I just finished listening to the piece, and all I can say is, "WOW!" Robert W. Smith has composed a wonderful piece for Tuba and Piano/Band. I will definitely be playing this in the future. This isn't one of those hokey-dokey type pieces either. It presents a huge challenge to the player. Give it a listen!
