Holton valve buttons

Post by UTSAtuba »

What other valve buttons are compatible with a Holton (small bore) valve set? And/or if you have at least one available, I'm willing to pay a couple of bucks for it.

Thanks!
Joseph

I have some Holton parts. Send some photos and provide a model number. There might be something I can do for you.

HA! You might be in luck. Let me get to my shop and dig through a box or two tomorrow.

Looks like you have all of the top caps. Is it the bottom cap you are after? I found top caps. I might have buttons too.

I will gather all the necessary parts. Let me know exactly what you need.

I'm looking specifically for the valve buttons. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks!

Joseph,

Unfortunately the buttons are harder to come by than the caps. I am all out.

Joseph,
Take a piston and a top cap to your local brass repair guy in San Antonio, and tell him that you want three Allied universal finger buttons in silver-plate. The Allied buttons look almost exactly like the originals, and you will have a matching set. And, that would be the least-expensive route, unless he just happens to have a vintage Holton finger button in silver plate lying around.

The buttons from 2 of my keefer horns are interchangeable with my Holtons.

Allied sells finger buttons for King/Olds/Reynolds/Selmer/Bundy. I don't remember if Holton is part of this group. If I remember correctly, the stem threads for the King etc group listed above is 8-32. I want to say the Allied part number is A327, but I could be wrong.
