You are correct sir. Of course it was a freak storm. And no, as a taxpayer, I don't want to buy equipment that is only used once every 10 years. Speaking of that, you should have heard the truckers on TV screaming at the GA DOT when they were stuck on I85 for 24+ hours in Atlanta last month. It's all a matter of perspective and right now my perspective is that the BD present is 4 days late and they can't tell me when it will get there. The recipient is leaving for a 2 week vacation on Friday and I just want to rant to someone. Thanks for listening. By the way, there is another storm happening right now. It's all Al Gore's fault. He has put a hex on us.

I notice there was a problem in 35 states(above). As long as it isn't in all 56 states, things can't be too bad. LOL

Got to work on time today, despite adverse traffic conditions in a city that cannot handle snow or ice. We had to listen to a 20 minute rant about dress code, and about no matter what the weather is outside we still have heat and air conditioning in the office.

20 minutes is a VERY long time? People must have been dressed VERY inappropriately! Scandalous! :)

It was quite literally 20 minutes. There were one or two people in jeans. My boss got called on the carpet privately for wearing dark brown corduroy pants. His point was that it does not snow or rain inside the building.
(Note that it took some of my coworkers 4-5 hours to get home last night, and at least one spent the night after taking two hours to go several blocks.)

What an ***. I think you should all show up in tuxedos one day.

The problem is, a guy like that probably wouldn't get the point.

-19 here this morning. The coldest temperature EVER recorded here. My old hometown of Ponca City got down to -30.

You have been updated...coldly.

It took my nephew 2 1/2 hours to get to work, 6 miles from his house outside Rogers, AR, to town, only to be told to go home. It took him 4 1/2 hours to get home, in a full size Hummer no less. 25 inches of snow in less than 24 hours. I lived there until I was 34 and never saw anything like that.

The Chinook is upon us, winds out of the SW and temps in the 50s. For you folks down south, it will not stay cold and snowy forever, the sun will shine and in no time at all you will be complaining about how hot it is.

Cell phone quit yesterday. Bummer! Just so happened to fall on the same day as AT&T introduced their 4G network so I got an HTC Inspire 4G. I will undoubtably never learn to use all of it. It will however serve to reduce my gadget box by two devices, GPS and laptop card. My monthly outgo will reduce slightly as well. Progress? Maybe.
