Re: Tristar Eb
Tri-Star = most likely made in India. I said INDIA. NOT Indiana! RUN!

The picture looks like a 3 + 1 configuration. Do you think the picture is wrong?

If you're gonna go with a funny horn from overseas, at least get this one-

Indeed -- just did a little scaling on the photo they provided. If the bell is 13.5", then the height ("length") is about 24" ... on the other hand, if the height is 31", then the bell is about 17" (seems more likely).LJV wrote:If the bell in the pic is 13 1/2" in diameter as described, "Houston, we have a problem..."

Re: Tristar Eb
Actually, I think the picture is a stock photo of a Besson 982, not of a TRI STAR anything. The picture looks like a 3 + 1 configuration. Do you think the picture is wrong?
I agree with everything that's been said so far...it is probably a POS, nowhere near the quality of a Besson.

Re: Tristar Eb
I wonder if many on this forum are aware that the Besson name was applied to some student-level euphoniums that were made in India.... likely in the same factory that gave birth to the horn in question.Mojo workin' wrote:Actually, I think the picture is a stock photo of a Besson 982, not of a TRI STAR anything. The picture looks like a 3 + 1 configuration. You've got to wonder about the sanity of the folks who own some of the old names in music instruments these day.
