Re: What hobbies do you enjoy?
I used to be into woodworking big time. But I have lost interest for the time being and I am selling off my shop. (If you want to see the listings let me know)
But my current hobby is photography. Landscape, nature, birds, and of course, my 2 year old.

Scuba diving when I can find open water. Woodworking, especially turning and making furniture (I'm in my birch period). Tuba playing is a 2 hour a day project (I'm retired I have the time). Volunteering for local government, church and environmental projects. My orchard in the summer takes a bit of time. That's enough for now or I will cut into my nap time.

Golf. I play between 9-36 holes per week weather permitting. 2 years ago, in Cleveland, I played in every month except February. That was a great year.

I dabble at writing, and photography. Not sure which I'm more "successful" at. Unfortunately, the mass of unsorted pictures and the amount of unfinished text are a bit out of hand.
Somehow I'd gotten into the "hobby" of fixing other people's computers for free. I can't really recommended it.

I've played a few times before, but could never get into it. My 2nd time out, I borrowed a set of clubs from the course... and lost one of the clubs somewhere along the way. They asked me to not come back.Tubaryan12 wrote:Golf. I play between 9-36 holes per week weather permitting. 2 years ago, in Cleveland, I played in every month except February. Re: What hobbies do you enjoy?
I took up woodworking when I bought a 40 year old wooden boat. Five years later, sailing became my fave hobby.
Learning to fix and refinish wood has come in handy ever since.
Motorcycling, music and family keep my retirement years eventful.

Re: What hobbies do you enjoy?
I love old time radio. My cell phone has several removable memory cards. I use the phone to listen to the shows (over headphones) and the sound is amazingly clear. Most of the shows can be downloaded for free (legally, as the copyrights have run out).
Click on this link to hear the audio version of the 1937 Frank Capra movie, Mr. Deeds Goes to Town:
LUX--1937.02.01.2000.CBS
As indicated this show was originally broadcast over the Columbia Broadcasting System, Monday, February 1, 1937, at 8:00 PM.
If you have any questions about old time radio, please send them my way.
Thanks!
Bill

Strength Athletics: nothing better for me than lifting heavy and awkward stuff over, and over, and over again...I also really enjoy golf, trying desperately to get my game back, also want to get back into the longdrive game...and of course playing with Bruckner (the resident Blue Heeler/??? mix)...and of course eating everything in sight, smoking cigars, and drinking beer/scotch/gin/bourbon/wine...

Re: What hobbies do you enjoy?
I took my 1981 Yamaha to a "Modern Classics" motorcycle show at a local dealership. they moved all their new bikes out and had 97 classics from the 60s, 70s & 80s. Beautiful bikes and a neat display. they took professional white box photos of each bike and are making up a book. Can't wait to get mine.
here is a pic of my bike a my favortie at the show.
1981 Yamaha Seca 550

and my favorite of the show a 1984 BMW R 100 CS

Re: What hobbies do you enjoy?
I used to read a lot. A lot. A lot.
My favorite genre was sci-fi monster, I never cared much for fantasy and such. Also used to be big into 4x4 trucks but that's not such a great hobby living in a big city. I'd like to get into dirt bikes or ATVs but the same problem. If quads became street legal in Chicago I'd have one tomorrow though.
I don't really have any creative hobbies besides instruments and some singing.
I am big into pocketknives and should finalllly turn in my FOID application so I can shoot on my own dime and not have to wait for the once a year Army qualification.

Re: What hobbies do you enjoy?
My new hobby, as of eight weeks from today, is this:
RETIREMENT
I also enjoy reading and just being in nature. I intend to use the brain cells that heretofore have been used in protecting the transmission system in AZ to figure out, finally and hopefully, how to structure a piece of music that lasts longer than three minutes. Hopefully I have enough brain cells left to do that.
The short-term new hobby is this:
TRAVEL THE WESTERN US IN A VAN.
MA

Joe, I think I took the one with glasses to a Drive-In movie when I was in High School in the late 50's. Heater didn't work on the 1948 Chevy.bloke wrote:I collect vintage/classic l.p.'s...

Golf. I assure you, the curse words and tantrums don't mean I'm not enjoying it.
