MP question

Post by Scania9s »

:tuba: Need some advice from the awesome community! Seeking a good mouthpiece option for a meinl weston 45F or "standard model" F tuba. Currently using Dillon PS 3 and PT 65 but both shanks seem way too large for the receiver and they seem not very 'free-blowing'.

Another good choice: a Laskey 30F.

The cup is actually large (although it feels smaller), with a medium depth. I use one on a Yamaha 822s. The high range is easy, and low range is fat. I can actually use it like a small CC if required.

I modified my 30F by flattening the rim somewhat, but I like more bite than most people.

If you only want to play Berlioz, you could consider the Laskey 28F. Slightly smaller cup width.

G&W Baer F or Mike Finn 4 would also be worth a try.
