Not to worry Joe. There's some guy who regularly posts on here and he usually has his address in his signature line. He also often posts about a shiny expensive horn named for the God of Thunder, has a big 6/4 customized 2165, a fancy custom Silver Buescher Helicon that he once offered on here for $50,000 or was it $65k, a snazzy custom 36k/40k sousaphone that looks like it has it's own power supply for the custom paint job and a whole lot of other fancy brass stuff he has stuffed into barns down there in the middle of the country. Heck, he even posts pictures of the place on here which should make it easy for the burglars to plan their heist. The place is guarded by a bunch of cats and some angry chickens. The burglars should have such a field day they will leave the rest of us alone for awhile!

On the other hand, does posting a list here help provide documentation of what you had when it goes missing? In that case, we should include serial numbers and photos if possible. Hmmm... something I should have somewhere off site.

My local burglar hasn't bothered the house yet, but he has broken into my tool shed twice, last time less than three weeks ago. He has taken a wheelbarrow and firewood from outside. Etc., etc.

Of course, proving it is tougher. But this last time as I was securing the toolshed better again, he was stealing some old car tin at the bottom of my driveway. The cops caught him, but there were lights on in his house last night, so I guess he's out again.

Instruments: Three tubas (four if I count the one my son has in Florida, or is that his now?) 6 to 8 baritones/euphoniums (one that belonged to a cousin of my father, an American Standard in satin silver) 6 to 8 trombones (one is a King 3B, but that's in Fla. too) trumpets and cornets (the trumpet my mother had in school and the cornet my brother had) the York mellophone my father had, about 3 French horns, an alto horn. a flugelhorn, various woodwinds, some percussion, two accordions, a marimba.

Amazing the things you can find at garage sales.

1 tuba, which no one else likes- "medium" H. N. White King Eb with 3 front valves and some slide work
Getzen 1062 bass trombone
Benge 190F tenor
2 King 606's, one a beater and the other a $50 Craigslist steal
Fullerton Olds marching trombone
Kanstul 1690 contrabass trombone, the chainsaw from hell
Amati 331 euphonium
pawn shop electric bass I've not touched in years (brother has it)
small Epiphone amp for above bass
I HAD another contrabone, contratrumpet, rotary bass trumpet, 2 other small Eb's, 4 valve Conn Giant Eb,... All gone now.

As for burglars, I've got a FOID application (been sitting on that...), Soap worthy knives*, a big dog (pushover sweetheart, admittedly), and government-trained "skills".

Don't be impressed - he counted the rainstick twice.
Dang it, you're right! Another reason to not be impressed: I'm a percussionist - by far the greatest hoarders in the orchestra. Every year of playing means collecting more and more random instruments. I'm a serious lightweight compared to guys like my teachers who have been playing 40+ years.
I played with a guy back in Indiana who had about 100 tympani. He had them spread over his normal playing places. Some of them were near 100 years old, I -think- he said some of those had some kind of skin as the head.
