Maybe i'm missing something... but it's advertised as a compensating tuba... but the pics clearly don't show a compensating tuba...

Hi-
They do the same thing--wrong descriptions-- with the 4 piston, 1 rotor BBb clone--neither is compensating...

Here is the BBb version of it--to me it looks like a smaller version of the M&M TU 2000

Ya know, if these horns play AT ALL, they are a steal. With the cost of tubas today, I'd be cautious as this deal seems too good to be true.

I don't remember playing the 1291 copy (and I wish I did!), but the Hirsbrunner rotary Bb copy and piston Bb above both play very well as does the rotary F and small rotary baritone. I'm somewhat contemplating the 1291 copy as a contrabass tuba is the natural companion to my contrabass trombone. :D

Fellahs,

Those are the SAME horns sold by MM and others! The 4-Valve BBb Schiller in TUBAD3's link IS the same axe as the MM2000! The ad copy wrongly describing the C Tuba as "compensating" is one of the many reasons NOT to buy your clones from Laabs&Co!

Although I don't care for the way they advertise these clones, I have no reservations about recommending Jim Laabs--they are good people to deal with and they sell a good quality product. Will definitely be buying my next tuba from Laabs.

Yes, it does look like a cross between a PT something and a Brunner, Someone here needs to buy one!
