There is a series published by Warner Bros. called "Ensembles That Swing". The arrangements come with optional rhythm section parts. From that series, I've used "Over the Rainbow", "Peter Gunn", and "It Don't Mean a Thing." Difficulty level is medium easy. They're a lot of fun!!

Jack Gale has published a lot of jazz charts for brass quintet. He arranged "Porgy" and "West Side Story" for the Empire BQ. If you wish, I could find the information, or maybe Google would be quicker.

Some personal favorites:

That's a Plenty - arr. by Hillcombe (Musicians Publications)

A Child is Born - Jones/Bass (BVD Press)

Tales from the Jazz Age - Gale and Nagle (Music Express)
Includes: After You've Gone; Bugle Call Rag; Charleston; Original Dixieland; One-Step; Royal Garden Blues; Tin Roof Blues

Alexander's Ragtime Band - Berlin/Rowe (BVD Press)

Tuxedo Junction - Hawkins/Sabourin (Touch of Brass/Tapestry)

Personal Plug:

If you are headed to DC for the Tuba Conference in a few weeks, BVD Press and Cimarron Music will have a booth. Please stop by and say hello! I will have many of the pieces listed above and in the previous posts on display.

Take care,
