I'm in an affected area. But since I live on the side of a hill I can stay where I am. They want everyone off the beaches, lowlands, and highways.

We're on the southern Oregon coast and it was minimal here. Down in Brookings-Harbor, just above the California state line, got hit somewhat worse, and Crescent City, just below the state line, worse yet. And apparently things got increasingly worse as it went south.

Everything is fine on Guam. Most of the hotels are allowing Japanese tourists to stay here and reducing their room rates to accommodate this.

The Guam Visitors Bureau has announced that the number of foreign tourists has plummeted in the last week. However, many civilians who work for the U.S. military in Japan are being sent here. The military exchanges/commissaries and the civilian stores (especially supermarkets) have had a marked INCREASE of sales in the last week.

So are you staying put on Guam for a while, or coming back to the mainland?
