I just browsed your website, very nice! Definitely a great idea to have play reviews of the instruments you are going to sell. On some other sites there are just the usual good intonation, fast response, plays well etc stuff which does say nothing. Looking forward to hear about your impressions of the JBEB700 soon.

Based on what has been spoken of here on tubenet it seems that the Miraclone Cc you and the other Jinbaoists sells is a winner. Now with what looks like to be two out of two that have played the JBCB400 with not the greatest impressions it is maybe a bit scary, despite of what was seen about "plays very well" and such in the ads, to be recommended. At least as with my one it is a lot of work, especially for someone that starts out with a first Cc and thinks wow a real bargain. So beware. Something about the size of a YCB621 but with rotors and the price of the JBCB400 would have been nice...

If someone would have a chance and time to spend at the factory to help them iron out the quirks with the 400 it could be good instrument. At least the size is fine and the valves and slides works great. :)

My Fasch/Jinbao bass trombone have I used in the orchestra as my main instrument for nearly four years now. Both me and the colleagues like it well and it is still not falling into pieces...

Now, if someone could start to produce a great bargain priced ophiclede.

Wow, so a veteran poster who is an excellent musician and has offered help and expertise to many is said to "have had a come to Jesus" moment...or ditched his moral scruples for a quick buck? Too bad that once again this forum allows posters to take the low road instead of wishing a fellow tubist and now businessperson good luck. How sad.

Hey!!!
There is nothing "low" about providing decent Tubas at fair prices! I know that some sellers are using an expensive middleman to obtain their Tubas, and some are making as much as 400%(though mostly 2-300%) markup, while dodging the origin of those horns! I speak for myself, and am also 100% sure that Neptune and Mack would NEVER push some peice of junk on a buyer! :x Most folks who would buy a clone are NEVER going to be able to afford a more expensive German, Japanese, American, or even South American Tuba!!! Those who do eventually, end up with a Miraphone, or Kanstul,et.al., will be able to justify their "high end" purchase because they make money playing, have grown as players and can appreciate some of the "subtleties" a high end Tuba offers, or have a "day job" that allows them to pay for such an instrument, even if they can't take advantage of said "subtleties"! Remember, early Yamaha, Jupiter, and Weril offerings weren't all that(some still aren't, especially considering their high prices!) in their early days . I wish I had viable options like these JinBao's when I was a broke college stundent in the early '80's! I could have paid for a Bass AND a Contra-Bass Tuba of my own with what I made painting houses in the summer! Thanks to Roughrider and others for their open minds!

Well, when a poster who has a significant history of attempting to steer potential buyers away from Chinese tubas toward used European and American tubas and pointed attacks the ethics of Chinese mfgs announces he is now selling Chinese-made tubas less than two months after his most recent anti-Chinese screed, it's difficult NOT to avoid the conclusion that the poster suddenly "got religion" on the subject of Chinese-made tubas, and to question just what "religion" that is: particularly when said poster goes back and deletes the post to which the respondent linked (but can't delete the quote of said post down-thread).

Get off your high-horse pgym. I was never on some religious crusade, but was just debating and playing devil's advocate with a bit of tongue in cheek. I deleted previous post simply because on re-reading it was a load of rubbish (not surprising as I was suffering fever at the time - really)!

No-one is saying the Chinese tubas are better than European made - but they now offer a reasonably good inexpensive alternative for those on tighter budget, or other things they need to spend their money (something I am starting to understand now I'm a married man  ). It is all priorities and individual choice - why should UK and European tuba buyers not have that choice? My new business helps give them that choice. Those that can afford, I will happily direct to my good friend Mark Carter at Mr.Tuba to supply the top of the range.

For the effect of Chinese imports on European makers - business is business - the market changes. There will always be buyers for both cheaper and more expensive models.
