Alan Baer MMVI

Post by DenzelRichTx »

Hello all,

After doing some researching I finally bought this mouthpiece. I've heard great things about it. Can anyone tell me their personal preference about the mpc how it plays and how it feels on the lips?

To me, it feels "soft" and gives my 52j great tone. I bought mine with the euro shank and i love it (i need to try blokepiece one of these days though). It is stainless so it is picky but that can be taken care of in a couple days.

It's a great mouthpiece, though it didn't work for me on every tuba I've owned. Was excellent on my Miraphone 1291 and did nothing for me on my Marzan.

If you try it on your Miraphone 188, let me know how that goes!

My guess is that it'd probably do just fine in the 2145, and it'd all be a matter of personal preference.

Over the last six years I've tried a bunch of mouthieces on my 188. The GW Baer enables me to produce the best tone quality. As for articulation, I have to work somewhat harder than I would playing my blokepiece.

Do you have an American or Euro shank for your Baer mpc?

I am using a 5/4 CC tuba
I am considering this Alan Baer MMVI mouthpiece when compared to PT 50,
May I know which one offers a clearer articulation in upper range? Thank you.

Productive practice techniques offer clearer articulation in the upper range.

But to give my opinion, and I have both of those mouthpieces, I like my MMVI better period.

You have to try both of them for yourself. Which is better, Coke or Pepsi?
