That's what I was told. He made the stack/throat, cut down the bell flare, and curled the edge. I don't know if he put a bead in it or not (and I'm not about to unroll it to find out!).

Yeah. I am, and expect to have a lot more as I get to spend more time with it. It has several small bumps and bruises I'd like to get taken care of and that'll happen, at least to a certain extent. I'd love to get it stripped, buffed, and lacquered, but that won't be anytime soon unless someone wins the lottery and is kind enough to share.

All I know is that it was from a Meinl-Weston. I have no idea which model, but it would have to be one with a similar bore size through the valves as the original pistons had.jstrother123 wrote:What valve cluster was used for this? Thanks.

I thought this was a fun picture. It was taken at our recent mass brass ensemble event ("Brass in the Grass") at A-B College. Unfortunately, it was rained out so it was inside.

This was taken of me with my Yamaha euph (YEP-641) while doing a featured solo with the band in March, 2011.

Me practicing my ultrasonic dog calling scales.

It's difficult to play in tune when you can't hear the notes, but I did get a dog to come to me.

I think those king tubas are really under rated. Easy to play, good tone and in tune. Let me know if you ever want to sell it!
